The Wind River Visitors Council’s mission is to “stimulate tourism by increasing awareness of, and encouraging visitation to, the unique destinations, activities and events in Wind River Country.”
The Wind River Visitors Council (WRVC) is located at 100 N 1st Street in Lander, in the same building as the Lander Chamber of Commerce. The WRVC is a Lodging Tax Board and is responsible for promoting the travel and tourism industry in Fremont County and on the Wind River Indian Reservation through expenditures of the Lodging Tax. The Council was formed by a Joint Powers Agreement in 1989 between the Fremont County Commissioners, the cities of Lander and Riverton and the towns of Dubois, Hudson and Shoshoni. 10 Board Members represent the municipalities and are appointed by local City Councils and the Fremont County Commissioners. (Two Board Members represent Dubois, Lander and Riverton—six total, one Board Member represents Hudson and Shoshoni—two total, and two Board Members represent the County)
Wyoming Senior Citizens, Inc. (WSCI), founded in 1975, is a private, nonprofit organization whose purpose is to meet the needs of Wyoming’s older residents and help them maintain their independence.

ServeWyoming is our State’s center for volunteerism and national service. We exist to help implement and coordinate the AmeriCorps programs, as well as build, maintain and mobilize the volunteer infrastructure we believe necessary to address the critical needs in our State. We also collaborate with other AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps Seniors programs such as AmeriCorps*VISTA and AmeriCorps Seniors*RSVP and VGF*Service Learning.
The mission of the Alliance is dedicated to the elimination of personal and societal violence and the empowerment of victims and their children.

The Riverton Senior Center strives to provide the best possible social environment for seniors to gather. While we are a community center as well, our focus is on promoting the independence of seniors through a variety of activities and programs that meet seniors’ needs.
We serve children K-12 in an atmosphere in which all children believe they can succeed empowering them to achieve our three outcomes: Academic success, good character and a healthy life style.
