Wind River Country
Events Calendar

It will soon be even easier to fly to Riverton. SkyWest Airlines (a regional partner for United Airlines) is adding extra daily flights on Thursdays and Saturdays from Denver to the Central Wyoming Regional Airport (CWRA). For the past year, there has only been one daily round-trip flight from the airport. Industry issues caused by the pandemic and an increasing pilot shortage have affected regional airports around the country. Adding a flight back into Riverton shows the strength of the market and growth in the Fremont County area.

Located in Riverton, the airport provides great access to central Wyoming. Instead of making the six hour drive from Denver, you can land right in the middle of the state and begin enjoying yourself immediately. And, there is a lot to do.

Fly to Discover National Parks

Wyoming is home to the country’s first, and arguably most famous, National Park: Yellowstone. The park is a half-day trip from Riverton, so many visitors fly into CWRA and sightsee through the beautiful Wind River region on their way to the park.

Flying into Riverton means you’re also only two hours from the Grand Teton National Park and three and half hours from the underrated Bighorn National Forest. Wyoming also has 12 state parks that span over 100,000 acres. Flying into the middle of the state gives you the ability to head in any direction to find one, the largest being Boysen State Park, only a short drive north of Riverton.

Fly to Experience History and Culture

If history and culture interest you, you’ll find museums and historical sites right in Riverton and the opportunity to head over to Dubois (about an hour) to see the new National Museum of Military Vehicles. Riverton is surrounded within the Wind River Indian Reservation, which provides a variety of cultural and historical perspectives and experiences.

Fly to Enjoy the Great Outdoors

Flying into Riverton gives you instant access to amazing outdoor recreation activities. Hiking, fishing, hunting, river rafting, mountain biking, and camping opportunities are right at your fingertips. The area is popular in any season

With plenty of places to stay, plenty of places to eat, and plenty of things to do, flying into the Central Wyoming Regional Airport lets you drop right into a wonderland of vacation opportunities.
