The Riverton Museum collects, preserves and interprets artifacts that have a direct association with Riverton history, eastern Fremont County communities, the Eastern Shoshone peoples, the Northern Arapaho peoples and regional history as it relates to Fremont County. The Riverton museum also may collect items that represent specific aspects of history and culture that help educate through the exhibits and programing.

Come and see local wildlife, learn about legendary trapper and mountain man Jake Korrell, and dive into the history of Wyoming and the Old West! The museum exhibits 62 full body mounts of wildlife, plus 27 life-size wax figures, historic scenes of the fur trade era, western exploration, Native Americans & early settlement of the West. We also have a number of horse drawn farm equipment and a 1908 wilderness cabin. There is local beadwork, jewelry, antiques, and authentic traps for sale.
